Creating a music video is an exciting endeavour that allows artists to visually express their music. Incorporating lasers into your music video can add a dynamic, futuristic edge that captivates viewers. My challenge was to turn a dance studio into a dynamic stage.
We had four hours to shoot five different looks with dynamic movement using one roaming and one static camera. By using a strong key light, two coloured fill lights, and a laser, I created a visually captivating atmosphere that enhanced the performance. Here were my lighting thoughts:
I also had to grab a few stills for each look. The images below were inspired by renowned photographer Lindsey Adler's. Her expertise in creative lighting is truly inspirational and I enjoy adding bold colours to my portraits. I have shared some of my favourite images taken from that day below. Please take a look at Glitzy Von Jagger's first look from Sharp Dressed Them single which will be dropping the second of August. Nestled on the southeastern coast of England, Margate is a town that exudes charm, history, and a vibrant arts scene. With its picturesque seaside views, historic architecture, and a unique blend of old and new, Margate offers endless opportunities for photographers to capture stunning images. Whether you're an amateur or a professional, this coastal gem provides the perfect backdrop for your photographic adventures.
For those who enjoy capturing the unusual and eclectic, Margate does not disappoint. The town is dotted with quirky shops, vintage stores, and vibrant street art. The Dreamland amusement park, with its retro rides and colorful decor, offers a nostalgic and playful setting for photography. Wander around the backstreets and you’ll find murals, graffiti, and unique storefronts that add character and charm to your photos. I packed my digital camera as well as my Asahi Pentax Takumar 55mm lens. It had been some time since I had used this setup. I decided on the 55mm lens as it is known for its versatility and ability to deliver stunning results in both portrait and landscape photography. The 55mm focal length is close to the human eye's natural field of view, resulting in portraits that feel authentic and true to life. While I stopped to capture a few images I also wanted to enjoy the moment. Here are a few of my favourite scenic snaps. This week I thought I would do a little appreciation post to my pet rabbit who is always supervising me while I edit away. I still cannot believe Flapjack is (probably) twelve. He was a rescue which is why we aren't sure on all the details. Anyway, Facebook recently reminded me that my first photo shoot with him was ten years ago and I thought I was about time I got some recent portraits. So what do you think?
I have always joked that it will be one winter which might change my mind about living in London. I never thought it would be a summer, or lack of , that would have me looking into tickets to Brisbane. Our 'winter' weather has been matching our 'summer'. Don't get me wrong, I love the long summer days but the recent rain had me feeling very homesick. London hits differently on a sunny day. So I am dressing for the weather I want and this outfit I shot earlier with Chiara has been living rent free in my head. I did purchase the denim shorts but think I might need the top too. Super cute right? Check out her profile for more inspiration here
