I am shooting a wedding tomorrow so thought I would post my blog today. Earlier this week I was lucky enough to sit in on Les Primes final dressed rehearsal. They currently have a show at the Golden Goose Theatre in Camberwell. I was mainly shooting video but captured a few moments back stage which I thought I would share with you.
Les Primas is the UK's first drag ballet company, packed with personality and flair. All the dancers in the company have had international careers with major dance companies and musicals. Les Primas blends together world class ballet and comedy. With excerpts from the world's greatest ballets such as Swan Lake, and The Nutcracker the ballerinas of Les Primas will have you enchanted with their dancing. Class with a touch of comedy, the show has something for everybody. Must finish on Saturday the 31st of August, find ticket here https://www.goldengoosetheatre.co.uk/whatson/les-primas-.

As I reminisce about our non existent summer, I realise I did not share some recent event photography. I was lucky enough to head to Ascot in mid June and capture an intimate conversation between artist Alice Anderson and Reine Okuliar as part of the Tate Summer Events. It was an intimate and empowering discussion and I left feeling very inspired. Here are a few images from the day where the sun graced us and allowing an interactive environment.
Like many creatives, I often find myself in a love-hate relationship with editing. On the one hand, editing is where the magic happens—it's the process of refining raw material into something polished and powerful. On the other hand, it can be a painstaking, sometimes frustrating task that demands intense focus and a critical eye.
The enjoyable side of editing allows you to bring your creative vision to life. It’s the stage where ideas take shape, where you can play with pacing, tweak visuals, and perfect the narrative. There’s a certain satisfaction in seeing everything come together, knowing that each cut, transition, and effect adds to the final masterpiece. The creative control it offers can be exhilarating, as you sculpt your project into its best possible form. It has made me a stronger videographer and while I am continually learning new retouching and grading tricks, these skills have helped me develop my own photography style. The unfortunate side of editing, however, also comes with its challenges. It can be a tedious and time-consuming process, filled with second-guessing and the constant push for perfection. The detail-oriented nature of editing can be mentally exhausting, especially when you find yourself combing through footage or tracks repeatedly to get everything just right. There’s also the frustration that comes with technical issues, like software crashes or rendering delays, which can disrupt your workflow and test your patience. I find I can become too close to a project and will often need a break or opinion from a trusted friend. I always try to see those challenging times as a place of learning, a new way of thinking. This week has been very laptop heavy and I am in that awkward situation where my recent work isn't ready to be shared. So I thought I would reedit some of the images from Glitzy's Music Video Launch. I personally love a good black and white image as it provides a timeless aesthetic. Do you prefer last week's edits ? A music video launch party is more than just a celebration—it's a moment to share the hard work, creativity, and vision behind a project with fans, collaborators, and industry insiders. Whether you’re an emerging artist or an established name in the music world, hosting a launch party for your latest music video can be a thrilling way to connect with your audience, build excitement, and set the stage for your video’s success.
You might have remembered from my previous post, that I shot Glitzy Von Jagger's first single Sharp Dressed Them. I was lucky enough to attend the event as well as capture the guests and energy. There’s something uniquely magical about watching a music video for the first time, especially when you’re surrounded by a room full of like-minded creatives. It’s not just about seeing the final product—it’s about the shared experience, the collective energy, and the mutual appreciation for the artistry involved. The event had an incredible ambience, full of love and support. It was very difficult to select a few favourites but here are a some images to give you an idea of the evening. I did also shoot some video content which should go live over the weekend. You can listen to the track with this link here https://open.spotify.com/track/4P7UfWCX2cAnERN5iOwinZ?si=87df9f79f06549ff. Have a good weekend everybody! |
