So I have been debating if I should write a personal piece for you this week and as much I like to hide my emotions I just can not shake this feeling. In a strange way today has been both difficult and full of joy. You see usually I would call my mum in Brisbane and wish her a happy UK Mother's Day but she passed away last year. We would both have a little laugh as it isn't the same day at home in Brisbane. However, it was always a good excuse to chat for an hour and really take the time to listen and get a proper update. Today I really missed my call but instead it got me thinking of all the incredible strong women in my life. My good friend's who are absolute superstar in my eyes raising their beautiful children. I also thought about some of my mum's friends who didn't have children but had a huge impact in my childhood and helped me become the person I am today. I am super grateful for all the love and support I receive and realise in many ways I have so many 'mum' role models in my life. I just really wanted to take a moment to thank everyone, especially those who adopt us into their family. I hope you all had a lovely day with you family. Here is a picture from my childhood which my aunty gave me last year. I just love everything about this picture. Yes that is me with my twin brother rocking some serious golden curls.
