Testing... testing ... 123

Lights, camera, action! My boyfriend is almost finished writing a film and we are in preproduction mode. We will be shooting a promotional trailer for the film shortly. It is an action film so a thorough preparation is crucial. As we discuss and debate lens and talk all thing technical, we decided it was time to grab the camera and actually shoot something, anything.

We gathered our gear and had a lighting test. We want this film to have a dark, moody feel. Welcome shadows and embrace some attitude with contrast. You can see from the first shot below how even and in this instance, for our purpose, 'dull' the shot is. After a little trial and error you can see how much character lighting, or lack of it, can provide. I am really happy with this experiment and can not wait to start filming the action sequences.
