Girly night in

I had a few of the girls over at mine last weekend and we had a proper girly catch up over a few sophisticated cocktails. It was loads of fun! I have worked in hospitality for many years and am still very passionate about making cocktails. In a strange way I kind of missed it and enjoyed being the hostess.

I thought I would share a tasty cocktail recipe from the evening. A wonderfully refreshing martini made from vodka, lemon and cloudy apple & elderflower juice. All you just need is a cocktail shaker. Place the following ingredients together: 50ml of vodka, 50-75ml of juice (depending on how strong you like your drink), the juice from one wedge of lemon and loads of ice. Shake and strain. Ever so simple and totally refreshing. Don't forget to garnish with the mint. Give it a good old smack in your hands as this releases the flavour and makes you look like a pro!

Enjoy.

Black & White London love

21/2/2014

It was a beautiful sunny Friday and my intentions of spending the day video editing inside did not feel right. I could not concentrate at the task at hand and found my self constantly staring out the window. I decided as it was Friday, I deserved a treat and went to visit my boy for lunch.

I took my camera along and documented my quick trip. I do love the Spitalfield market area and could easily spend the afternoon exploring. It has such a lovely atmosphere and with the sunshine looked even more appealing.

It was a lovely refreshing afternoon and with a full belly I headed home. It was time to get back to my computer and continue with my work. Fingers crossed the weather report it correct and the sunshine stays for the weekend. London really does shine in the light.

Show me the ... love

I spent a wonderful day with my friend and our cameras. We had decided to meet in Covent Garden as it was, surprise surprise, forecasted with rain. This was a pretty fun choice as the market area has loads of personalty with all the different street performers.

I didn't realise that the British Heart Foundation also had a love installation. The letters of LOVE, made in a red giant galvanised steel, can be found at the end of the market area. For a suggested 3 pound donation, you can leave a heartfelt messages until 14 February. Some of the messages are beautiful. I suggest you check it out and maybe leave your own personal note behind.

Expensive taste continued...

I wrote about cinetics last year, wow, that sounds like ages ago. Anyway, I have been meaning to shoot my own little sequence and have to apologise for the delay. Now I want to start by saying that I don't really loose objects, well except umbrellas, but generally as a rule I am always pretty good at looking after my belongs. So when I originally came to shoot this tester video last year I was shocked to find the 1/4" to 3/8" convert screw missing from my production pouch. I remember hearing it fall on set but could not see anything and thought nothing of it until I needed it. So I recommend you go to amazon and buy a few now, trust me, you will thank me later.

So, after waiting for the postman I could finally get back on track and see just how good cinetics are. I am pretty impressed with the outcome although, I did notice that with my camera being a little on the heavier side, the gorilla pod legs would sometimes move. You really had to make sure it was angled and balanced evenly. Practice makes perfect. This system is remarkably quick and so easy to transport. I loved how easy it was to add cinematic value with movement. I am look forward to using this get up on my next shoot.

In the meantime, I had some beautiful flowers in my flat. Please take a look at my little test video below.
