So I started this week with an early shoot for Bazi Jewels. Sharan had finalised her collection and was ready to put her stunning and unique handmade pieces online. Sharan “ was inspired by the nomadic lifestyle and culture of the indigenous tribes of India. They have a strong sense of their own personal identity amid the chaos of the modern world. I wanted to create something that draws on the rustic and ancient charm of the old world and this cross-cultural melting pot we live in today. The brand is the expression of this creativity and spirit, and celebrates the continuous evolution of us as individuals in our own lives." One of my favourite pieces was The Sapphire Rays which is modelled by Tanya below. If you like what you see head to www.bazijewels.com to see the rest of the wonderful collection.

Those who have been reading my blog for a few years will know of my love of shooting film. I still remember those first days working in the Australian film industry as a clapper loader many years ago loading 16mm and super 16mm cameras. It was a very different way of shooting. Long rehearsals to make sure both the actors and camera crew knew the action. Takes were precious and you were cautious too not waste any film as it was expensive. I still love the filmic look and it has been great to shoot some projects on both formats. Yes you can recreate that filmic look in post but there is something magical about not knowing what you have captured. The waiting game until you get your images/video and seeing if your calculation were correct. I have a few images from a recent shoot with the lovely Monikh Dale. Can you spot which images are shot on film?
Wow what a week. It has been full of wonderful opportunities. I still can not believe I spent Monday at Wimbledon. Such an incredible day! Huge thanks to Lavazza and Mariko. The atmosphere was electric in Centre Court and it was a perfect day to people watch while watching Nadal smash his way to victory. Not going to lie, having Nicole Ritchie sit behind you was a little surreal. As you can tell I am a fan and she is even more stunning in real life. Anyway, I'm ending my week by watching the men's final. Wimbledon you have been fun, same time next year?
You might remember I shared a few images from my day at Ascot with Mariko a few weeks ago. As well as shooting some still content we also created a short video of the day. I wanted to share the video with you today as I am particularly excited. You see, I am packing my equipment as I am off to Wimbledon tomorrow morning. I can not wait! Last time I went with my aunt a few years ago and saw Robert Redford, drank champagne and ate strawberries and cream. Does it really get any better than that? Will definitely keep my eyes open to see who else attends. What a way to start the week! |
