So I had a shoot booked in since early February and had kept an eye on the weather. I was so excited to see that the BBC weather forecast had foreseen a sunny day especially after the snow. However, while the morning was promising as soon as I went to take my first shot, you guessed it the rain started. Well I wasn't having any of that and while I managed to find shelter where we could shoot for the first look I then had to think of options for the others. I had spied a potential shop on my way and well if you don't ask you won't get. I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Lolas Cupcakes for letting us shoot while we also got our sugar fix. Turned out to be a perfect location and of course the cupcakes are delicious. Win win ;) Take a look below at the stunning Charlotte Wallis.

So first full week back in London and my has it been busy!
Six shoots in four days while fighting off a cold. The week started with a awesome headshot shoot with actress Rachael Baker-Graham. Hats off to this Northern lass who didn't let a little bit of snow disrupt our shoot. It might have been cold but nothing was getting in our way. Here is a sneak peak at a few of my favourites. So I am back in London and suddenly those three weeks have literally flown by! Now I must confess I was a feeling a little smug that I had managed to escape the snow but it seems the weather gods have other plans. While I might be nursing some sunburn, the drop in temperature has really got me feeling the cold this weekend. For me it is all about wearing the right jacket to keep you warm and dry. So this week, in my slightly jet lagged state, I thought I would share some more images from Devika Duggal London Fashion Week shoot. Totally love this pretty pink faux fur coat. Anyone else trying to inject more colour into their wardrobe?
Urban dictionary defines ugly mug as a face that is undisputedly ugly and resembles that of a mug or cup. However, head to 418 Milton Road Brisbane and you will most likely run into Mikey. Now I just want to make it clear that I'm not implying anything. After all it wasn't me who named his shop.
Anyway, I have know Mikey for over twelve years, his wife is an old friend and back in the day we all met in a pub (of course) just by Old Street station in London. Unfortunately Renee's visa had expired and so she had to move back to Brisbane. Mikey understandably joined her shortly. Mikey open Ugly Mug coffee shop almost ten years ago and I was beyond ecstatic to finally visit. This was well overdue and let me tell you it didn't disappoint. I missed Mikey's sarcasm and witty banta and the espresso was strong but tasty. I even got the VIP treatment with home made sourdough that was absolutely divine. The regulars I met as I drank my morning cup were all friendly and chatty. So if you are in the area I highly recommend you stop by, if you are lucky Billie (their beautiful dog) might also be about. Fingers crossed it won't take me so long to head back for another cup of coffee! |
