Pasta dates

26/8/2019

Always a pleasure to have the stylish Monikh Dale in front of my camera and this week I thought I would share some images from a Estée Lauder Shoot. We actually shot some film on the day and if you head to Monikh's Instagram page, you can find the video using hashtag  #EsteeBridexMonikh. So much fun to shoot on super 8mm, although I found it was difficult to wait for the film to get developed.  A little too impatient after shooting digital for so many years. Anyway, it was a glorious sunny day, the pasta was delicious and feeling very excited to be involved in this project. Each month Monikh will release a video giving you all a sneak peak into how she will be creating her bridal makeup.

Happy National Photography Day!

19/8/2019

Let just side step the fact this is a day late, perhaps an intentional mistake to happily coincide with National Photography Day. A day, that speaks to me personally and one  that we should all acknowledge. Founded in 2009 by an Australian photographer Korke Ara the 19th of August was chosen to celebrate World Photo Day.

A worldwide celebration of the history of arts, science and photography. An important day where we can all help inspire the next generation to understand the importance of photography.

With todays modern technological advances most people now own a smart phone which has a fairly decent camera. Now more the ever we have so many user friendly apps to help edit images. With over one billion users on Instagram is great to see so many people picking up their camera or phone and snapping away.

For me I can still vividly remember how excited I was to find something that spoke to me. I was in my year 11 Film and television course and as I looked into the viewfinder to frame my shot I was hooked. I spent many years focusing on cinematography and lighting. Important elements which also helped shaped my photography style.

It was only when I bought my first DSLR in 2012 where I started this blog and decided to focus on photography. Originally this page was created to help inspire me to pick up my camera and shoot. Even now in 2019 I always like to explore new ways to help me create innovative images. I love how you are able to learn from each job and am always excited for what the future will bring. So I thought I would share some of my favourite images I shot in the last year with you below. I will be interested to see what this year brings and hopefully compare images this time next year. Let me know if you have a favourite.

Say You Will Be There

I have been lucky enough to work on a few projects with the incredibly talented GeO Gospel Choir. Every single time I cover a gig I am absolutely blown away with everyones talent. They have an wonderful pool of gifted singers based in London and Scotland so it's always fresh (although Gerad assures me you can request a singer for your event if you want but subject to availability). I was delighted to join the Choir as they sung with the Oxjam team to help raise money to beat poverty in Clapham Common. It was a cloudy afternoon but that didn't stop the crowd. Please take a look at the video below and if you like what you see click here.

Summer Makeup

This week I am a little spoilt for choice on what to share with you but as it has been so humid I thought a little makeup video would be perfect. Beauty blogger Kavita Cola uses some Glossier products including the cult Skin Tint to get that summer glow. We shot a relaxed guide to help you get that fresh face look during these warmer days. Here's a little teaser and for the full video check it out here!
