With Black Friday (finally) happening this weekend I thought I would share some small business that I have had the pleasure of working with. I'm sure you have seen the video of two worker doing a happy dance after completing a sale. WIth 2020 being the roller coster ride that it is, I am suddenly more aware of how I want to spend my money and supporting small sustainable businesses is my priority.
So I have worked with Alex from Rebel Waite for a few years now, totally crazy to think how quickly time has flown. Alex has in incredible collection of sustainable shirts, a staple in your wardrobe. Her motto is "shirts that take you from desk to dinner, poolside to party". For more details click here. Another brand which I absolutely love is Daphine. Daphine offers a range of beautiful timeless jewellery pieces that will speak to your heart. I will also add that they are currently running their only sale so suggest you take a look here quickly. I am sure you will recognise some of their iconic pieces.

So this week has been a little busy and filled with a fair few laptop days. Lots of editing and admin for the next few weeks. Now I have enjoyed my local walks but when I found out Tate Britain had a light exhibit it seemed like an evening walk would mix up my routine. It was such a mild evening that we decided to walk along the river and before we realised it we were walking past parliament and headed into town. Next stop was Covent Garden and then Oxford Circus to see the Christmas lights. Usually I am in town two to three times a week so it was great to visit my favourite spots. Most shops were closed and the streets were fairly empty with only a few people who had a similar idea. It really lifted my spirits and I can tell you that after fours hours of walking I slept like a baby. Here are some good old iPhone images from the Tate, nothing like the charm of London town. If you are looking for some Christmas cheers totally recommend a evening stroll through Regent Street.
Some of you might remember that back in August I ran a competition where I had four Quick Pick Up shoots on offer. Each winner was given a 45 minute shoot and two edits for free. Extra edits were £25 with £20 donated to The Actors Benevolent Fund. I am super happy to confirm that I was able to raise £140. It felt good to give back which is why I am running another giveaway. I ending 2020 on a positive note. More details will be released on how you can enter next week. In the meantime let me share some of the images.
I wrote earlier about this shoot with super talented Paul McArthur. What I didn't mention was that we also had superstar Jai Galbraith join us during the shoot which was so much fun! Feeling intimidated? Why not bring your friend and we can all shoot together? Such a great atmosphere and you can never have enough hands on set.
So I have been bringing my film camera to shoots and when I remember (which isn't very often) I try to grab a few snaps. I have been using my film camera to document my lockdown/summer experience and absolutely love it. Anyway, I added some of the film and the digital images below. Can you tell which is which? I have told myself I need to shoot more film, especially in 2021. Getting my new years resolution in early ;) |
